Chinese Cuisine
The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.
Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.
There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.

I was here several years ago and it was only bad now it is awful. I went with a business partner for a quick lunch and it turned out to be so bad that I insisted we stay longer so I could try everything they had to offer in order to find something decent. No luck. Lets call it ERSACTZorsumthing Chinese Japanese uggg. I am always wary of these places but my friend wanted to go so in we went. I tasted tiny portions and can report with all honesty that nothing was any good at all. Near the end of this experience I thought, "Ah, can't go wrong with tuna salad, chicken salad, and oranges." I was wrong. The chicken was made from yesterdays disasters, the tunafish was "light" (not white albacore, and the oranges were mealy. I moved on to the watermelon and found it hard and white. There is a limit to the bad food I will put up with and this dump is my limit.

Had a day shift at work, had a nice beach day with some drinks and then we were starving. I was craving massive amounts of food, and I haven't been to a buffet in a really long time so I said. Why not try this place out? Its basically walking distance from my apartment so, might as well see how it is. We came in for dinner and were immediately sat, clean table, everything looked clean. So I immediately was put in a happy state of mind. They got the drink out right away and then we were off. I think I may have eaten 3 big plates of various food and 2 plates of wings. There was 1 or 2 things that I did not like, but the majority of everything I had was delicious. The servers were good, I got a refill on my drink promptly and they take the plates away quickly as well. Dinner for 3 came out to around $40 with a 20% tip. Well worth it. I'll definitely be back, and try the lunch out.

The food isn't hot or fresh enough for me. The service is pretty good the girls are always refilling the complimentary sodas. The carpet in this place is pretty nasty the only good thing is that it looks dirty but doesn't smell. Sounds like an Oxymoron but it's true :) But for $7.95 for lunch it's really inexpensive and I didn't get sick from the food, that's always good right?

Let me start off by saying...my server was a sweetheart! Unfortunately, the food is gross!! I will not go there again, not even if it were free. Enough said.

My review is very much in the spirit of those reviewers who have said that Jumbo Buffet is your typical, wallet-friendly, South Florida Chinese buffet experience. As another reviewer stated, 'It ain't a brunch buffet at the Ritz.' This is true. It's your basic strip mall restaurant approach to dining. But I find it to be a decent option for familiar, 'affordable' Chinese buffet fare. I've been stopping in to Jumbo Buffet off and on for about 2 years and I generally have a pleasant experience. Staff is always very friendly and prompt, I've found. But I usually drop by at quasi off hours. So, rarely am I dining during a dinner or lunch rush. Even so, the dining room can get a bit noisy at times. But that's just the nature of this type of place. So, nothing out of the ordinary in that regard. As for the food, I've always been pleased with the quality of the items offered on the buffet, even if they are fairly predictable. The menu is pretty much the same menu that you'd expect to find in just about any Chinese buffet at this price point: General Tso's chicken, barbecued spare ribs, pepper steak, sweet and sour chicken, a couple of seafood options, fried shrimp, some steamed dim-sum choices, fried rice(s), spring rolls, and so on - you get the idea. They also have an 'American' steam table featuring pizza and a few other hot entree alternatives to the Chinese fare. This table sometimes appears to be a bit 'less well-maintained' than the Chinese tables - but it's a Chinese buffet, so what would you expect, right...??? Also have a sushi bar, which usually looks 'ok,' but I've never sampled it. Myself, I'm really finicky about my sushi and I prefer sushi that's prepared 'to order' as opposed to sushi that might have been sitting on a chilled buffet line for a couple of hours. Again, that's just me. The desert station filled with fresh fruit and ice creams seems to be a crowd pleaser, too. But I'm not much on sweets. So, I usually have a few cubes of pineapple or cantaloupe and that's about it. Overall, I concur with those reviewers who have said that Jumbo Buffet 'is what it is' and offers a standard-yet-pleasant South Florida Chinese buffet experience at a decent price. I've stopped in many times during the past couple of years and certainly I'll return many more times in the future.

I'm a native New Yorker and I know good chinese. I'm going to review this place for what it is, a chinese buffet. I did not come here to have their pizza or pasta, try their sushi, or eat their desserts. I wanted chinese plain and simple. I've tried pretty much all of Miami Beach's chinese food places, and have been met with dissapoinment; repeatedly. One day I was driving past this place and decided why not. I'm glad I did. Their food is not the healthiest, and many items are fried. But again, what do you honestly expect from a chinese buffet that charges 7.95 for lunch with drink included? With that being said, I've always enjoyed my chinese food experiance here. The noodles are not dried out, the fried rice is good, as is many of the chicken entrees and their egg rolls. Now, outside of that...I'm not too sure. But again, I'm here for cheap, yummy chinese, nothing more...nothing less.

Pretty decent, though it was better like 3 years ago. Much better management than it used to be, so now, you're not allowed to use the same plate twice, you don't get charged extra for crab legs, and all the employees speak/read/understand English. They could use a few more flavors of ice cream, but on a lazy Friday night after waking up from a straight-home-from-work nap, it did me just fine.

Must be under new management. I liked everything I tried and it was super clean.

I rate places for what they are. This is a Chinese buffet joint. It ain't a brunch buffet at the Ritz. JB is clean and I found most of the items in the chafers to be as fresh as they can be. I do wish they would use placemats. I'm not sure why restaurants have moved away from using placemats on bare tables but it is annoying to me. It was not busy when we were there so I can't comment on service really. We will return again when the hankering strikes us again. It won't be anytime soon just because it isn't the kind of place I would frequent.

This is in a shopping complex by Starbucks drive-through and I remember coming here with a class back in 2006. I decided to come by here since my mother suggested the family meet here and eat for late lunch. It was around 2:30 pm on a Friday. I'm still cracking up to what my father said in here: " Man, this waitress wouldn't stop asking me if I want more water! I kept saying I was fine. Leave me alone already! " This is really your typical American Chinese buffet. It doesn't really change my mind about the Dynasty Buffet in the Skylake. And, seriously, Jeannie totally said it for me -- I almost fell from the slippery floor.. be careful.

Can you say Jumbo Junk! I am not a fan of Chinese food or buffets and this place didn't help change my mind. All the chicken dishes lack flavor and authenticity. The honey chicken tasted like a cross between orange and barbecue chicken and who knows what. The mussels which I was afraid to try were over cooked and so was the very very very chewy squid. The best dish there was the pizza and it wasn't all that great. I mean it's hard to mess that dish up, so easy even a cave man can do it. I will not return EVER.I am not even sure that was chicken. It left me tummy feeling pretty gross.

Nothing special. If you've been to a chinese buffet there will be no surprises. The place seemed somewhat clean (only a few yrs old). Service pretty poor, unfriendly, the usual and the floor was very slippery (grease like) right outside th kitchen door by the buffets. I cannot imagine noone not falling here already. It was busy though and for I believe $12.95 it is a very cheap dinner out. Looks like they have a very reasonable lunch special too. I wouldnt go back but I am not a big buffet supporter nor do I care for marginal food. Go to Bamboo Garden on 163rd instead. Food is excellent. No buffet- but take out is the way to go for chinese in my eyes. Also offer reasonable Combo deals.

Ok, so it's not upscale or super creative, but you do get to eat a lot, and it's not bad! It's your usual Chinese with a few sweet chicken varieties, deep fried breaded shrimp, and they also have a little Italian food section, in case you're into mixing, or go with someone who doesn't really have the Chinese food craving. Soda refills, fortune cookie with your bill, etc. The one thing I don't love is that it's buffet, so you get up to get your own food, but you have to pay for your server, who only brings you soda. But well! If you're starving and want to eat a lot, this is a good place for that in North Miami Beach/Aventura area.

I'm so sorry... But I had to give this restaurant a bad review. I hope they read this. They are priced ok. $7.95 for lunch including a drink but the food is pretty bad. I'm sorry again but the only thing that tasted good were the egg rolls... I figure you can't mess that up. Anyways, please get another chef or improve food quality. I think this is one of the worst lunches I have had in a while.

If you like Chinese food and you are close by this is the place to eat. servers are not really friendly but they are very attentive. What more can you ask for, when its only 8 bucks for lunch.
(5)James K.
Horrible buffet. I dont know how they stay in business with Ginza right down the street. Most of the food is fried and overcooked. Would not come back here again! The service is ok. Nothing impressive and was dirty the time i came in for lunch. I guess you can not expect much from places like this. But other buffets offer a lot more. Not acceptable and will not be back here...
(1)Cassio P.
These guys have really good value-priced buffet. If yuo want to eat lots of pretty good food without spending too much money, I recommend them. Man, the Chinese really know how to feed an army. The interior is not hideous, either, and the location is fine if you want to go somewhere else later.
(4)Ray C.
Came here for a quick dinner. The food tasted old and they started moping the floor while we ate! Not only that but we could smell the dirty water and chemicals. Yuck! First time, last time. The only thing that was good here was the water. It was hydrating.
(1)Jennifer B.
I'm usually a big fan of buffets, but I wasn't impressed with this one. A lot of the dishes didn't have labels, the meat was mostly dry and so was the rice. The variety is good, but the execution on the food needs improving.
(2)Claire S.
I like this place because they were fawning over my children (always appreciated). Anyway it is better quality food than normal buffet but still buffet quality if that makes any sense. Good variety, yummy food, good for kiddos--I'm a fan!
(4)Ice M.
Good food I always take my family there for the longest I never had no complaints its a buffet and cheap.
(4)Michael M.
My wife and I ate here last night. She found good reviews on google. Lol. the food was dry and tasted a bit old. We tasted soap on the ice cream I am sure from the bowl. we definitely were not happy with food or the 13.99 price tag. but the drink was free

A very nice buffet in North Miami area. One if the good things about this place is the variety of food items. The dishes are tasteful and the ambient is nice.
(4)D S.
I'm not into buffets but here and there I'm willing to try one. You can skip jumbo buffet; boring mix of tasteless meatballs, chicken wings, really small shrimps...etc In addition if you are expecting Chinese food you will be disappointed: Mac and cheese, meatballs, pizza, fries, fried onions and roast beef. So what Chinese food? However, there were two things I appreciated: honey seared chicken and leaving the place.

I was here when jumbos 1st opened in north bay village then here was the 2nd location the food was great .. Then it sold and all down hill from then on expecting it to close soon .. The staff looks at there customers like why are you talking to me ...? ... LOL I'm watching paying customers asking when the crab comes out and they just ignore them as to say (( your a piece of poopie ) wow I don't eat here anymore but every once in a while I get lazy and don't want to drive to look for crab so come in and always say we know why we don't eat here anymore ... LOL then a year or so goes by and we do it again ... It's Not Ok for staff to ignore or be rude to there customers and the food is nothing like it use to be we all question our selves like we must by stupid to one here and pay for bad food and rude staff , not the wait staff cause they work for tips and the hostesses are always sweet but the kitchen staff if they worked for me and I saw this out they would go .. LOL it's all funny they have turned this place into a lowlife buffet that only the poor and lower class people will eat here .. I really hope I remember why I don't eat here next yr or the next time I get the urge for eating crab they only bring one shallow pan of crab every 20 to 45 mins so they thing they save money It's not working Sunday night the place is dead I remember waiting in line here for 20 or 30 mins just to get a table .. Ha ha ha same people just don't get it

This is a Chinese buffet so let me put this out there for you on the front end so you don't have to write another 2 star review for this place: yes, the food is salty and most of it is fried and greasy and some of it is not as fresh as if it were made to order. The reason for this is simple: IT'S A CHINESE BUFFET!! With that said, I found this to be some of the better Americanized Chinese food I've eaten in Miami. That is not particularly high praise as most of the other places I have tried were not very good at all, but still. The general tso's chicken probably was the best I've had down here so far. Also, the service and prices are both good. Our waitress was very friendly and really stayed on top of our drinks etc. Of course there were things I didn't love about this place too. The hot and sour soup was not good. Also, the crab legs were not very tasty. I love crab legs, but not these ones. All in all, a solid Chinese buffet. Just go in understanding what you are going to be eating and you'll be fine.

Jumbo buffet is located confidently on Biscayne Blvd and 136th st, in a shopping center with private parking. A very inviting and clean enter area has Jumbo Buffet. Waiters come up to you right away and greet you friendly and show you the table. There are four big sections for food. You can choose from salads, fruits, fish, pork, plantains, noodles, pizza, sushi and more. It looks like the garden of eden. Well, when you try that food it brings you quickly back down to earth! It is terrible! I think i tried almost everything they offered and i was not into anything! Actually that's not right, as desert i had tangerines, they looked like the ones out of a glass, they were actually delicious. If i am in this area again and i am starving like today and food has to be close and fast, I would go there a again. If i have 15 more minutes, i will keep on driving and will pass Jumbo Buffet.

I agonized over whether to give this three or four stars. The place is clean, and they've got a lot to choose from. Having said that, despite being billed a Chinese buffet, not all the food you're going to find here is Chinese. Maybe only half. There's plenty of egg rolls, spring rolls, noodles, rice, fried rice, and about any other traditional Chinese dish you can think of on display. On the other half of the buffet you've got salad makings, roast beef, fried chicken, pizza slices, fruits, puddings and other desserts. It isn't the most delicious food you'll have, but it's very cheap, and they keep it rotated with fresh food regularly all hours. The price makes up for a lot, and there is a lot of variety here to choose from, not a bad daily dive for your office lunchbreak.
(3)Rachelle K.
Its a 9 dollar buffet before 3:45. So if your looking for a cheap lunch its worth it. Clean buffet. One thing I was disappointed the food wasnt very hot. Some of it wasnt even fresh like the salmon. Other items made up for it. The staff was friendly.
(3)Tricia S.
No, no, no, gag! My husband wanted chinese food, so I agreed to go here. It was so gross. The food was so salty and mushy that I could not even eat most of it. Any seafood dish tasted like it had been prepared 2 weeks ago. I will never go back...it may be cheap to eat at, but the stomachache is not worth it! Yuck!

Terrible food, would not recommend it to anyone. Homeless people wouldn't want to eat here.
(1)Brenda D.
Meh, the food is mediocre kinda dry chinese and sushi. 13.99 for dinner (adults). Its good if you want to eat a huge meal, but wongs up the street is much more delicious.
(1)Briana B.
Got salmonella from a bad crab leg.. Was in the hospital for a week. FORGET THIS PLACE! cheap and dirty.
(1)Anjali R.
I don't usually do buffets, but this one was good! Great food selection, and everything was very tasty! Also, for $8 a person, you cant go wrong. Would definitely dine here again .

This place used to be good but went in there for lunch the other day and was.
